POOL UPDATE - AUGUST 17, 2020

Starting Monday August 17th the pool will NOT have lifeguards Monday thru Thursday for rest of the year.  We still want to use the reservation system to sign up for tables.  For walk ups, please take an open table.

The goal is to provide spray bottles of chemicals at the entrance table if you wish to wipe down your own table.  Please clean up after yourself and put tables and chairs back in place.  Each evening several board members will do a basic clean up only.  The pool company will vacuum and do chemicals on Tuesday.

On Friday’s we will have guards 4-8 PM and Saturday and Sunday will have regular hours.  We will use the reservation system on these days to sign up tables as well.

All the sign up times stay for lap swim, family swim and guarded swim Friday thru Sunday.

At this point, the pool will be open under these guarded hours thru Sunday September 13th.

Additional SAYOR and potential guarded hours will be considered once The Board sees how active and clean the pool is as of September 1st.  As in previous years, we expect to keep the pool open until the end of September!!

If the pool deck is not kept clean by membership then we may have to see if we can add additional guarded hours, if available, at a significant expense.  We know it is a strange summer so we will work our way through any issues to keep the pool safely open for as long as possible.

Thanks,
HP Board

Highland Pointe's swimming facility ranks among the best in the area. The large pool is a great place to enjoy a cool dip during the Georgia summer. The kiddie pool is available to children 5 and under. There are almost always some friendly neighbors to chat with and the expansive deck means there is plenty of room to host swim meets and neighborhood parties. Check out the Events Calendar on the Home Page to find info on any poolside socials.

POOL HOURS & SAYOR

To facilitate access and responsible use our facilities and to allow Swim at your Own Risk during designated hours, Highland Pointe uses an access control system on the swimming pool gates, the tennis court gates and the lower level of the clubhouse; in addition to the steam room and exercise room. The access card is assigned to your home address. You will need to use this card to unlock the pool gates at all times, even when lifeguards are on duty. Please do not prop the gates. From 9:00 pm to 6:00 am, access to the pool will be denied, from 11:00pm-6:00am access to the tennis courts will be denied and 11:00pm-6:00am access to the lower clubhouse will be denied. Reminder: The pool is NOT available during swim team practices; from 8:00am-11:00am weekdays beginning May 23 until June 28. The pool is open until 10pm on Fridays in June, July and August. From August 1–August 11, Swim At Your Own Risk hours will be 6:00am–4:00pm (lifeguards will be present from after school until closing). From August 13-Sept. 16, Swim At Your Own Risk Hours will be 6am-8pm. During SAYOR you must be 18 years old or older, unless accompanied by an adult. A button to open the pool gate when exiting the pool area is installed on one of the fence posts as you leave pool area. Please be sure to close the gate securely when entering or leaving the pool.

ACCESS CARDS

If you would like an additional card, there will be a $25.00 charge. There is a limit of two (2)cards per family. If you lose a card, there is a $25.00 reactivation & replacement fee. Also, if you become delinquent for not paying homeowner dues, any associated late/legal fees, or non-payment of violations resulting for property inspections, there is a $45.00 charge to reactivate your card(s). Cards for homeowners with current delinquencies will not be authorized to access the pool gates, tennis courts and lower clubhouse until delinquencies are paid. At that time, the card will be reactivated. You should allow 5 to 7 business days for the card to be reactivated. It is important to remember that your access card remains the property of Highland Pointe and will be tied to your home residential address in Highland Pointe, to be used continuously year after year. You will return the access card when you sell your property or no longer join the Highland Pointe Recreation Association. You will NOT receive a new card each year, but will have it reactivated as yearly recreational dues are paid.
